In May 2023, Elizabeth Dawn embarked upon an artist's journey from Washington state to Georgia. She planned for Atlanta but circumstances led her to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Following her intuition, she moved west to east without telling her family and leaving behind a loving partner.

Penning poetry she didn't understand, Elizabeth Dawn time travels to crack her own code and assess the lessons learned through reflective narrative.

  • I Left a Stranger is a beautifully written, heartfelt and vulnerable journey of self-discovery and resilience. Liz writes with raw honesty in a unique and powerful way that invites the reader into her deeply personal story that lingers long after the final page. I’ve bought multiple copies to share with friends because when you find something so incredible you can’t keep it yourself.

  • I read one chapter at a time and listen to the song on the playlist on repeat while I do. For the last chapter, I ate my favorite childhood meal, eggs and toast with peanut butter and jelly, while reading.

  • Wow this is going to stick with me for a while. So beautifully written. Books like this one make me love humans even more deeply, we are all navigating such complex inner worlds and I could relate so deeply with the ache to be known deeply by others but also holding space for the fear that comes with that. So grateful to have spent time in the authors inner world
