The Phoenix

The ninth symbol accepts grief and death as necessary for rebirth.

A phoenix is an immortal bird that cyclically regenerates or is otherwise born again. It obtains new life by rising from the ashes of its predecessor. It is rumored to die in a dramatic show of flames and combustion; and it is willing.

When referring to a person, it is one who is unique, remarkable—one who emerges renewed after apparent disaster or destruction.
