The White Room

The first symbol is a place.

The white room signifies a place alive in meditation, a metaphorical altar, where I began my journey to deprogram my brain of the religious data input by my family. Disciplined and diligent, I sought salvation inside the blank canvas. I was moved by the violence of hope, the pain of anticipation, and the brutality of desire. To me, the greatest love stories include elements of longing, absence and patience.

I discover things first in the mind’s eye before the physical eye is aware. Awareness inspires the body to movement. Only then am I able to take purposeful steps in reality. When I stick to the processes that work for me, I make great strides in recovery. When the white room became physical, I marveled in the manifesting power of thought. I began to believe I could face anything, and I fell in love with myself.
